Role Description
The Asset Management Portfolio Governance Manager oversees governance across EMR’s asset management portfolio to ensure assets are managed effectively, safely, and in line with regulatory and corporate standards. Day-to-day activities include:

- Developing and maintaining governance frameworks
- Monitoring asset performance
- Coordinating with operational, engineering, finance, and safety teams to manage risks and optimise lifecycle costs
- Preparing reports and dashboards
- Supporting investment decisions
- Ensuring that asset-related projects align with strategic objectives and budgetary constraints

The role also involves:
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting audits and compliance reviews
- Contributing to long-term asset planning
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Derby, with a mix of office and home working.
Qualifications
- Strong asset management and portfolio governance skills, with experience in managing complex infrastructure or operational assets.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and performance monitoring tools to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Knowledge of risk management, compliance, and regulatory frameworks relevant to rail or safety-critical environments.
- Project and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in the transport, rail, utilities, or similar asset-intensive sector is highly beneficial.
- Relevant professional qualification or degree in engineering, asset management, business, or a related field is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, demonstrating self-organization, accountability, and collaboration.
