The Role
We are looking for an Asset Manager to take ownership of the performance and reliability of a portfolio of solar assets across the UK. Working closely with the Head of Operations, this role sits at the heart of day-to-day asset operations, ensuring sites are operating efficiently, issues are resolved quickly, and value is maximised across the portfolio.
You will play a key role in driving technical performance, working closely with O&M providers, landowners, local communities, and other external stakeholders to optimise asset output, reduce downtime, and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. The role will also act as an important point of contact for landowners and community stakeholders, building positive relationships and helping ensure Sonnedix remains a trusted long-term partner in the areas where it operates.
Asset management in renewables combines technical oversight, stakeholder coordination, relationship management, and performance monitoring to ensure assets operate efficiently and deliver expected returns.
This is a hands-on role with real ownership, ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the detail, leveraging data and technology, building strong stakeholder relationships, and making assets perform better day-to-day.
Desirable skills
- Technical Understanding of Renewable Assets
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems (or similar technologies), with the ability to understand performance issues and asset behaviour
- Performance Monitoring & Data Analysis
- Ability to interpret asset data, identify trends, and drive performance improvements through KPI analysis
- O&M and Contractor Management
- Experience working with and managing external service providers to ensure maintenance quality and asset performance
- AI & Digital / Tech Fluency
- Demonstrated interest in using data, digital tools, or AI to improve asset performance, automate reporting, and drive smarter decision-making across asset portfolios
- Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis
- Confidence in investigating technical issues and coordinating solutions to improve reliability and uptime
- Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Comfortable engaging with internal teams, investors, landowners, local communities, and external partners to build trusted relationships and ensure aligned delivery.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
