Our client is looking for an Asset Officer to join their Property Services team who are dedicated to delivering high‑quality, customer‑focused services across our housing stock. This fixed‑term role (6–12 months) will support the Asset Manager in maintaining, improving and ensuring full compliance across our homes, with a strong emphasis on planned and cyclical works, sustainability and progressing our net‑zero ambitions.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with technical knowledge, strong organisational skills and a passion for delivering safe, efficient and sustainable homes for tenants.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management & Strategy
- Support delivery of the Association’s asset management strategy.
- Help develop long‑term maintenance and improvement plans.
- Contribute to integrating net‑zero and energy‑efficiency targets into all asset planning.
- Identify investment priorities based on condition, compliance and sustainability.

Compliance & Safety
- Assist with managing compliance across gas, electrical, fire, water hygiene, lifts, asbestos, damp and mould.
- Maintain compliance registers and ensure inspections and remedial actions are completed on time.
- Support delivery of SHQS, EESSH and wider sustainability standards.
Planned & Cyclical Works
- Support delivery of planned maintenance and capital investment programmes.
- Monitor progress, budgets and contractor performance.
- Help coordinate major projects, ensuring quality, value for money and minimal disruption to tenants.
Contractor & Performance Management
- Assist with contractor oversight, quality assurance and performance reviews.
- Ensure contractual obligations are met, particularly around compliance and sustainability.
Reporting & Data Management
- Provide regular updates to the Asset/Property Manager on compliance, planned works and net‑zero progress.
- Assist with regulatory reporting, including ARC submissions.
- Maintain accurate data within asset management and compliance systems.

General Duties
- Act as a point of contact for asset and compliance queries.
- Keep up to date with legislation, best practice and sustainability developments.
- Support tenant communications and wider community projects.
- Work in line with organisational policies, values and regulatory requirements.
Ideal Candidate
Ideally you will have experience working in a Social Housing property team, and have experience in compliance and asset management. You should also be able to display:
- Strong organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Confidence working with contractors, data systems and regulatory standards.
- A proactive, customer‑focused approach and commitment to sustainability.
