The role
The Asset Performance Manager
The Asset Performance Manager is responsible for the following:
- Support the performance management of offshore asset base within the Energy & Infrastructure team across the portfolio lifecycle.
- Robust performance analysis, reporting, and insight for the operational offshore asset base to support accurate and timely forecasting that facilitates business planning and manage risks around volatility and develops a longer-term view on revenue optimisation and planning in the offshore space.
- Support enhanced visibility and expertise in aspects of offshore wind production volatility and performance certainty and the role will develop a long-term view of portfolio opportunities.
- Working closely with the Finance team, supporting organisational revenue forecasting and reporting, business planning, risk management and sensitivity and scenario analysis, applying sector-specific knowledge and expertise.
Key role-specific responsibilities:
- Working with Asset Managers and colleagues in the Finance team, coordinate revenue income aspects of monitoring, management and reporting of performance against budgets and business plan targets – budget planning, updates and forward planning
- Develop, manage, maintain and update modelling of offshore wind electricity production from asset base, to feed into various internal teams and organisation wide forward planning tasks including development of business cases
- Providing insights, advice and modelling to articulate uncertainties associated with volatility of OSW production, including uncertainties on grid-based constraints and wholesale electricity price factors, including acquisition and use of appropriate data sets to aid specialist modelling and insights
- Responsible for providing a view of longer-term revenue potential coming from development portfolios – offshore wind, CCS and other sectoral interests within Energy & Infrastructure team
- Responsible for line management of up to 1 FTE, as teams grows – including leadership, support, work allocation, ensuring engagement and monitoring performance for the role being managed
- Coordinate the Energy & Infrastructure Team’s cyclical planning and budgeting cycles by provision of inputs to systems and templates
- Estimation and modelling of energy resource, production potential and projections for the offshore asset base in support of various forward forecasting requirements for the Energy & Infrastructure Directorate- accounting for factors, such as wholesale energy market and grid performance variables;
- Develop, manage, maintain and update modelling of offshore wind electricity production from asset base, to feed into planning and budgeting work. Work with CES finance team to provide scenario-based forecasting, justification, modelling assumptions and ongoing monitoring of E&I asset performance;
- Lead on revenue income preparation work for Energy & Infrastructure team as part of annual budgeting process and in response to ad-hoc queries from external sources which will be responded to through the finance team;
- Creation of enhanced view of electricity production to enable real-time visibility of production and performance for offshore wind portfolio to support engagement with the E&I team and wider business;
- Provision of expert insights for the wider offshore development portfolios to inform aspects of decision making and future planning, including development of E&I business cases;
- Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and enhanced analytical tools or methodologies to support the development of best practice analytics for energy production across the E&I portfolio.

The above list is not exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to undertake other responsibilities and training as requested by their Line Manager appropriate to the grade. Further, the holder of the post will be expected to work flexibly across all the dimensions of the agreed corporate plan.
Key leadership responsibilities:

Key corporate responsibilities:
- Contribute to and take collective responsibility for the leadership of Energy Asset Performance function within E&I.
- Contribute to the implementation of annual business plan and contribute to corporate planning and strategic direction setting and ensuring good governance of the activities associated with your teams.
- Contribute to active management of risk to the delivery of the business objectives at a strategic, operational and tactical level ensuring suitable mitigation plans are developed and implemented in a timely manner, through the implementation of the corporate risk policy and associated procedures and assessments.
- Ensure all policies, procedure, processes and controls relating to managing your team, budget and financial transactions and data are followed and work with relevant departments to fulfil your obligations.
- Proactively build positive and productive relationships with stakeholders and partners both internally and externally, including at UK level where appropriate.
- Ensure effective and timely resolution of complaints and handling of challenging issues, handling political engagement in collaboration with corporate affairs colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the commercial and procurement function, support investment and innovation with a particular focus on technical due diligence, business case development, investment delivery, revenue protection business growth and diversification.
- Work regularly with colleagues in the Finance team to collaborate on revenue forecasting and monitoring, as it applies to Energy Assets performance.
- Seek out opportunities to be the ambassador for Crown Estate Scotland’s work and brand.
- Other tasks and activities as might be reasonably expected from anyone carrying out your role.
