Role Overview
The Asset Transitions Associate will support the planning, governance, reporting and coordination of fund launch and asset transition activity within LGPS Central.
This role provides structure and consistency across transition activities, helping to ensure plans, RAID logs, action trackers, governance packs and reporting are maintained to a high standard.
The postholder will work collaboratively with the wider transition team and internal/external stakeholders to support the successful delivery of transitions.
This is a great opportunity for someone with project coordination or PMO experience and/or asset transition and fund launch experience to develop their skills within a professional, purpose-led, and growing organisation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support the planning, coordination and delivery of fund launches and asset transition activity.
- Maintain accurate transition plans, schedules, milestone trackers and dependency logs.
- Manage RAID logs and action trackers, ensuring owners, dates, status updates and escalation points are clearly recorded.
- Prepare and maintain documentation, dashboards and reports for transition and governance meetings.
- Coordinate meetings – scheduling, agendas, minutes, action tracking and timely follow-through.
- Support readiness tracking across internal, client and third-party activities.
- Monitor progress against timelines, budgets, dependencies and agreed delivery criteria.
- Support collation and quality checking of inputs from internal teams and external providers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of relevant tools, templates and transition delivery practices.

LGPS Central (LGPSC) Ltd is the FCA regulated asset manager for fourteen local authority pension funds across the Midlands. LGPSC is jointly owned on an equal shares basis by those Partner Fund, and it is responsible for managing £100bn+ of their assets. It is one of six Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) asset pools in the UK.

Requirements
Essential
- 3+ years’ experience working in a PMO, project coordination, or project support role, ideally within a professional, financial services, or regulated environment.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good understanding of project management principles, including governance, RAID management, and reporting cycles.
- Ability to work with multiple dependencies and time-critical activities, escalating risks and issues appropriately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and experienced in project tracking tools (e.g. MS Project).
- Strong time management skills, able to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Desirable
- Experience supporting asset transitions, fund launches, investment change or operational readiness activity in financial services, pensions, or asset management.
- Familiarity with project methodologies such as PRINCE2, APM, or Agile.
- Experience preparing management information, dashboards, or programme-level reports.
- Understanding of benefits tracking and post-project review processes.
- Worked in Financial Services, ideally Investment Management.
Qualifications:
- Degree level or equivalent experience.
- PRINCE2 Foundation or equivalent project management qualification desirable.
- Investment operations, asset management or pensions-related qualification desirable but not essential.
