Vico Homes is built on the foundations of WDH. We are looking for an Assets Surveyor to join our Property and Building Safety - Assets Surveying Team.

A home is more than four walls and a roof. It should be a safe place. A place to start things. A place of opportunities. A place to grow. A place where you feel you belong.

These are the places we provide for today and for the future. This is what marks us out as one of the leading players in the social housing sector. We have over 32,000 homes across the north of England, home to tens of thousands of people. And people are at the centre of what we do.

Our people are approachable and professional. But we’re not afraid to be optimistic and show our passion for what we do to support our customers. We share a common vision, acting confidently to ensure we remain at the forefront of making it happen.

Together, we’re building better futures and vibrant communities.

About the role

As the Assets Surveyor your manager will be our Senior Assets Surveyor. You will work 37 hours a week on a fixed term basis of up to 3 months initially to cover a period of absence, working flexibly in the Vico Homes operating area based at our Head Office in Castleford.

As the Assets Surveyor you will work as part of a team of Assets Surveyors to complete surveying tasks and provide technical guidance on building architecture, fabric and associated infrastructure.

It is an exciting time to be joining us and here are some of the initiatives that you will be involved in:

  • Helping to develop the internalisation of stock condition and component surveying
  • Helping Vico Homes deliver great customer service through working with partners to deliver timely completions on property insurance claims, customers’ technical home improvement applications, investment stock condition surveys and high-rise building compliance
  • Working with partners to survey and check Vico Homes’ extensive portfolio of non-traditional properties

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
