Assistant Project Manager – Mechanical Services

£55,000–£65,000 + Benefits

I am currently recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager to join a business operating within the mechanical building services sector. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in M&E project delivery who is looking to take the next step in their career, supporting projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.

Working closely with Project Managers and internal teams, you will play a key role in coordinating project activities, monitoring progress and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time and in line with commercial requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with project mobilisation, planning and coordination from pre-construction through to completion.
  • Maintain project programmes, trackers and action schedules, monitoring key deadlines and deliverables.
  • Coordinate information between design, commercial, procurement and site teams.
  • Monitor procurement schedules, supplier information and long-lead items, escalating potential risks where required.
  • Maintain risk and opportunity registers, track project progress and prepare weekly and monthly reports.
  • Monitor outstanding information, assist with forecasting and support project controls.
  • Support commercial activities, including variations, valuations, change registers and cost/value tracking.
  • Attend project meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and follow up on outstanding actions.
  • Coordinate client, contractor and subcontractor communications.
  • Monitor testing and commissioning, snagging, O&M information and handover documentation.
  • Support project close-out, ensuring outstanding works and documentation are completed.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
