Role Description
This is a full-time remote Assistant role supporting SSA’s operational, administrative, and coordination activities. The Assistant will manage calendars, schedule meetings, and help organize virtual events and working group sessions. Daily responsibilities include preparing documents and presentations, maintaining shared files and records, and tracking action items and deadlines. The role involves coordinating communication with internal teams and external partners, drafting and formatting correspondence, and assisting with basic research and information gathering for ongoing projects. The Assistant will also support process improvements, update internal knowledge bases, and provide general administrative support to ensure smooth organizational operations in a distributed environment.

- Strong organizational, time management, and task prioritization skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, project management platforms, and video conferencing tools).
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting emails, notes, and basic reports for diverse audiences.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in scheduling, document preparation, record keeping, and data entry.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, demonstrate reliability, and collaborate effectively across time zones.
- Interest in AI, data standards, or technology policy; prior experience in a non-profit, standards body, or research environment is beneficial.
- Comfort with learning new tools and processes, and contributing to workflow and documentation improvements.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as administration, communications, information management, or related discipline), or equivalent practical experience.
