Assistant Management Accountant | 12-Month FTC | South Manchester | Up to £32,000
We're working with a well-established South Manchester business to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
The ideal candidate must be happy working fully office-based, five days per week and be immediately available or on a notice period of no more than 1 week.
This role has been created to provide cover whilst also strengthening the wider finance function. The successful candidate will join a small finance team and work closely with senior finance leadership, gaining exposure across both transactional and management accounting activities.

Key responsibilities:
- Managing Accounts Payable activities, supplier invoices, and payment runs
- Supporting month-end processes including accruals, prepayments, and journals
- Assisting with management accounts preparation
- Performing reconciliations and investigating variances
- Supporting cost analysis and financial reporting
- Assisting with payroll administration where required
- Identifying process improvements and supporting wider finance projects
The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger, or Finance Assistant background
- Must be immediately available or 1 week notice period
- Exposure to month-end duties including accruals and prepayments
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn
- AAT, ACCA, or CIMA studies would be advantageous but are not essential
