We're looking for a passionate Assistant Accountant – 15 Month FTC (maternity cover) to join our Interconnectors Finance Team!

Nemo Link is a joint venture between National Grid and Elia Transmission Belgium, and operates a 1,000 MW HVDC sub-sea electricity interconnector link connecting the UK and Belgium electricity systems via sub-sea cables, allowing customers to trade electricity between the two countries.

As part of the Nemo Link finance team, this role will support the smooth running of key finance processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, cashbooks, month-end reporting and budget holder support. You will report into the Head of Finance for Nemo and support the Management Accountant in their role, as well as working closely with colleagues across Commercial and Operations in the UK and Belgium, helping to maintain strong financial controls and supporting process improvements across the team.

This role is based out of our Warwick office, and we’d hope to see you at least 1-2 days per week but you’re welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!

What You'll Do

  • Take ownership of accounts payable and receivable processes including invoice and PO management and processing, payment management, customer and supplier administration and finance mailbox management.
  • Take ownership of banking activities including maintaining cashbooks, preparation of payment runs and credit card management.
  • Contribute to elements of monthly accounting and reporting (closing ledgers, accruals & prepayments, reconciliations, FX translations, audit deliverables, etc).
  • Provide support for a number of Nemo budget holders, providing insights on spend and managing purchase orders.
  • Support the wider Nemo team with finance administration activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
