Meraki Talent Assistant Accountant Opportunity

Location: Edinburgh City Centre
Work Type: Permanent, full-time
Salary: £40,000–£45,000
Working Model: Hybrid

The Opportunity

Join a well-established organisation with a broad range of commercial activities. Finance works closely with colleagues across the business, providing clear reporting and practical insight to support performance and day-to-day decisions.

The Role

This position combines financial analysis, month-end reporting, and transactional finance. You'll support several commercial and operational departments, helping them understand their financial performance while maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering month-end reporting and regular revenue analysis
  • Reviewing performance against budgets and forecasts, investigating variances, and providing clear commentary
  • Analysing commercial KPIs, pricing, and costs to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Working with departmental stakeholders to support financial planning and operational decisions
  • Handling transactional finance activities, including customer invoicing, payment allocation, collections, and accounts receivable
  • Developing reports and improving financial processes, controls, and systems

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in month-end reporting, variance analysis, and financial analysis
  • Willingness to undertake transactional finance alongside analytical responsibilities
  • Similar experience, relevant transferable skills, or a qualified-by-experience background
  • Strong Excel and finance systems skills
  • Confidence explaining financial information to non-finance colleagues

This role is aimed at experienced finance professionals who are not studying or planning to pursue an accountancy qualification. It is not suited to part-qualified candidates or those seeking a study-supported development role.
