Assistant Accountant – European Family Office – London – £65-70k plus bonus
We are working with a significant European family office based in London to find an Assistant Accountant to join their Finance team.
This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional with around five years' experience to develop within a fast-paced, international environment, supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of a dynamic multi-entity group.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records across multiple entities, in line with applicable accounting standards
- Process accounting transactions including AP, AR, general ledger journals, accruals and prepayments
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, management accounts and reporting packages
- Support budget and forecast reporting with accurate financial information
- Support treasury operations, including payment instructions, bank reconciliations, cash reporting and monitoring daily cash balances
- Maintain banking records and assist with banking administration
- Prepare supporting schedules for internal and external audits
- Assist with VAT and other statutory tax filings
- Maintain fixed asset registers and other accounting schedules
- Liaise with internal departments, external accountants, auditors, banks and other service providers
- Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years' accounting experience
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems (Business Central experience an advantage)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience working in an international environment desirable
- Progress towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent) an advantage
