Assistant Accountant Role
A high volume, fast-paced Assistant Accountant role in Hertfordshire within the Hospitality industry, you'll handle day-to-day financial tasks to keep the accounts running smoothly. This role will see you supporting the finance team with reconciliations, reporting, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.

Established over 25 years ago, this company is a rapidly growing company based in Hertfordshire with an increasing level of turnover. It has sites across the UK and internationally.
Description
- Support the finance function for a portfolio of venues.
- Process and review weekly trading data, ensuring accuracy and timely bank reconciliations.
- Monitor cash flow, treasury activities, and ensure financial controls are adhered to across sites.
- Assist with management accounts preparation, reporting, reconciliations, and year-end audit activities.
- Analyse trading performance, identifying anomalies, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with operational teams, acting as a key finance contact and business partner.
- Support purchase ledger, credit control, and payroll processes to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Assist with weekly payment runs and ensure appropriate authorisation and compliance procedures are followed.
- Compile trading statistics and provide financial insight to support decision-making.
- Contribute to ad-hoc finance projects and wider business initiatives.

Profile
A Successful Assistant Accountant Should Have
- Experience with multi-site entities.
- Strong transactional accounting knowledge including double entry accounting, posting journals, and sales reconciliations.
- Experience in a fast-paced high volume environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Good commercial mindset.
