Assistant Accountant
Uxbridge | Hybrid Working
£30,000 - £35,000 + 10% Bonus + Study Support + Benefits + On-Site Parking
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team of a successful international business operating across multiple markets. This is a newly created position offering excellent exposure across financial accounting, reporting and finance projects. You'll work closely with the Finance Manager and wider team, supporting both day-to-day accounting activities and ongoing improvements across the finance function.
Assistant Accountant Responsibilities
- Complete regular bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding transactions
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities across multiple entities
- Prepare balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, resolving differences where required
- Assist with financial reporting and ensure information is prepared accurately and on time
- Provide support during the external audit process
- Assist with VAT, corporate tax, payroll-related reporting and other statutory requirements
- Work with external advisers and third-party providers, ensuring information is supplied within agreed timescales
- Help document and improve finance procedures and internal processes
- Support the implementation and development of new finance systems and technology
- Get involved in wider finance projects and provide additional accounting support across the team

Assistant Accountant Requirements
- Studying towards ACCA, CIMA or ACA, or equivalent accounting qualification
- Previous experience within an Assistant Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar role
- Good understanding of month-end accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
- Exposure to financial accounting, statutory reporting or tax would be advantageous
- Experience working across multiple entities or within an international organisation would be beneficial
- Good Excel skills
- SAP experience would be highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail with a confident and proactive approach
- Comfortable managing competing deadlines and working across different areas of finance
