This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified assistant accountant to gain broad exposure across financial reporting, management accounting, controls, and process improvement, while benefiting from structured development and a clear pathway towards a fully qualified Management Accountant role. We offer a flexible hybrid working model, with three days per week in our Manchester office, alongside a supportive and collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
As an Assistant Management Accountant, you'll support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, helping to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. You'll prepare journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations, while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and supporting the delivery of management accounts, variance analysis, and reporting packs.
You'll also contribute to audit and compliance activities, assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, and identify opportunities to improve and streamline finance operations. Working closely with colleagues across the finance function, you'll support transformation initiatives, system enhancements, and continuous improvement programmes that drive efficiency and strengthen financial controls.

What will help you succeed in this role?
Essential
- Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience within a finance, management accounting, or Record to Report (R2R) environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Good Excel skills, including the ability to analyse and work with large datasets
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable
- Experience within a professional services or legal environment
- Exposure to balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close activities
- Experience working within a multi-entity or shared services environment
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
- Understanding of process improvement, automation, or finance transformation initiatives
- A proactive approach to learning and continuous development
