TPF Recruitment is supporting a small, relaxed, and extremely friendly firm of chartered accountants in West Malling with the recruitment of an Assistant Accountant.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming and supportive practice that provides a genuinely enjoyable working environment. The firm works with a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses across Kent and offers excellent exposure to accounts, tax, and general practice work.

The position can be tailored around the successful candidate’s experience and aspirations. You will receive plenty of support and the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge while progressing within the practice.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of:
    • Statutory accounts for limited companies
    • Accounts for sole traders and partnerships
    • Corporation tax returns
    • Personal tax returns
    • VAT returns
    • Bookkeeping and management accounts
  • Supporting with general client queries and ad hoc advisory work
  • As your experience develops, you will be given greater responsibility for managing assignments and building relationships with clients.

Requirements

  • You may be studying towards the AAT qualification, although qualified by experience candidates will also be considered.
  • You will ideally have:
    • Previous experience within an accountancy practice
    • Experience preparing accounts for owner-managed businesses
    • A good understanding of bookkeeping, VAT, and taxation
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • A friendly, positive, and professional approach
