Job Title: Assistant Accountant

Our client is a leading UK mid-market private equity fund with an extremely capable management team and an experienced group of investors. They are looking for an Assistant Accountant to support the Corporate Accounting team in delivering the day-to-day operations including transactional accounting, journal processing, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, month-end close activities and maintenance of finance systems. The ideal candidate will have a positive and proactive attitude, great attention to detail and keen to join a supportive environment with scope to broaden their experience.
Description
The responsibilities for this Assistant Accountant role include, but are not limited to:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Prepare and post routine journals, and support the month-end close process including reconciliations.
- Review expenses, corporate cards, and reconciliations.
- Process payments and support cash management.
- Maintain system data (Sage Intacct), workflows and access, and provide first-line support.
- Coordinate audit requests and supporting documentation.
- Assist with annual budgeting and periodic forecasting.
- Contribute to process improvement and the enhancement of financial controls.

Skills
The skills for this Assistant Accountant role include, but are not limited to:
- Actively studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least 2+ years of industry experience.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and financial controls.
- Strong Excel skills and Sage Intacct experience is desirable.
- Strong communication skills, exceptional attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
