Assistant Accountant
Location: West London (Hybrid)
Contract: 3 months
Salary: £225/per day
Trace are excited to be working with an impressive and renowned arts organisation to support them in finding an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on a 3 month basis.
Please note that we will only be accepting candidates who are immediately available.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Assistant Accountant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation. You will be responsible for a range of transactional accounting activities, including purchase and sales ledger, bank reconciliations, journal postings and balance sheet reconciliations, while also supporting monthly and quarterly VAT processes and settlement accounting across merchandise and hospitality.
This role offers excellent exposure across a broad range of accounting functions and would suit someone looking to develop their technical accounting skills within a supportive and varied finance environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Purchase ledger, including processing and posting supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Sales ledger, including raising and posting sales invoices, allocating payments and reconciling customer statements.
- Complete regular bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies where required.
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly VAT processes, including preparing supporting information and ensuring transactions are correctly recorded.
- Support settlement accounting across merchandise and hospitality, ensuring income and associated transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Complete a range of balance sheet reconciliations, investigating variances and following up on outstanding items.
- Assist with the wider month-end close process, providing accurate financial information and supporting the wider finance team as required.
- Contribute to maintaining accurate and well-organised financial records, ensuring transactions are processed in a timely manner and in line with internal procedures.
