About us:

For more than 110 years, BeA Group, with its brands BeA, KMR and autotec, has been synonymous with reliability, quality and innovation in fastening technology for wood and wood-based materials. With a deep understanding of our customers' challenges, we develop solutions that go far beyond the product itself.

As an internationally operating company, we partner with customers across industries including packaging, furniture, prefabricated housing and automotive to deliver forward-thinking fastening solutions that drive everyday success.

To strengthen our team in Yorkshire, we are looking for a Assistant Accountant (m/f/d). Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, as Assistant Account you will be responsible for the day to day running of the Finance Function, overseeing the Purchase Ledger and Credit Control functions and maintaining all aspects of the ledgers taking the accounts up to Trail Balance.

What you'll do:

  • Maintain and review the general ledger, cost centres, fixed asset register and monthly depreciation, ensuring accurate financial records and expenditure allocation.
  • Prepare month-end accounting activities, including journals (accruals and prepayments), balance sheet reconciliations, VAT reconciliations and quarterly VAT returns.
  • Manage payroll, including PAYE, National Insurance and pension deductions, ensuring accurate records and timely statutory submissions.
  • Oversee bank transactions, daily reconciliations, control account reconciliations and cash flow monitoring, identifying and resolving variances.
  • Prepare accurate weekly and monthly financial reporting, including management accounts, dashboards, budget variance analysis, forecasts and recommendations.
  • Reconcile and agree monthly intercompany balances with group companies and support external auditors with requested financial information.
  • Support the Financial Controller in improving financial reporting, processes and operational efficiency across the finance function.
  • Collaborate with Head Office and IT on the implementation and rollout of the new SAP ERP system, while maintaining related company records and administrative finance data.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
