Assistant Accountant
Surrey | £28,000–£32,000 + Bonus | Permanent | Office-Based
We’re working with a well-established global business based in Surrey that is looking to add an Assistant Accountant to its finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid transactional accounting experience who is keen to develop their career within a structured and supportive environment.
The Role
Working closely with the wider finance team, you’ll play an important role in supporting accurate and timely financial reporting and the smooth running of day-to-day accounting activities.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Managing daily bank and cash reconciliations
- Posting bank transactions and journals
- Supporting month-end close
- Maintaining accurate general ledger entries
- Reconciling key control accounts, including accruals and stock-related accounts
- Supporting monthly management accounts and variance analysis
- Assisting with KPI and financial reporting
- Supporting internal and external audits
- Working with stakeholders across the wider business to resolve queries
- Contributing to finance projects and process improvements

We’re looking for someone who is:
- Currently studying towards AAT, or already AAT qualified
- Experienced in an accounting or finance role
- Confident using Excel and accounting systems
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working with reconciliations and financial data
- A strong communicator who can build relationships across the business
- Ideally experienced within a multicurrency environment
- Experience with SAP or JD Edwards would be advantageous.
