Assistant Accountant
Coats Recruitment are recruiting an Assistant Accountant on behalf of a leading engineering and manufacturing group based in Droitwich, Worcestershire.
This is a full-time, office-based role reporting to the Financial Controller, ideal for someone with a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and strong administrative skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in the preparation of management accounts, including raising journals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Carrying out supplier statement reconciliations
- Managing inter-company sales, purchase, and nominal ledger reconciliations
- Analysing credit card receipts and performing suspense reconciliations
- Providing cover on cash posting and bank reconciliations when required
- Covering purchase ledger payment runs and aged creditor reviews as needed
- Covering credit control when required, including order releases and credit limit reviews
- Supporting the team with operational and financial process improvement

What We're Looking For
- Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
- Proven experience in ledger management and reconciliations
- Strong administrative and analytical skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team

Salary and Benefits
- Salary negotiable, around £32,000, depending on experience
- 40 hours per week, 08:30am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday
- 22 days holiday plus bank holidays (rising to 25 days after 2 years)
