Assistant Accountant

Coats Recruitment are recruiting an Assistant Accountant on behalf of a leading engineering and manufacturing group based in Droitwich, Worcestershire.

This is a full-time, office-based role reporting to the Financial Controller, ideal for someone with a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and strong administrative skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the preparation of management accounts, including raising journals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Carrying out supplier statement reconciliations
  • Managing inter-company sales, purchase, and nominal ledger reconciliations
  • Analysing credit card receipts and performing suspense reconciliations
  • Providing cover on cash posting and bank reconciliations when required
  • Covering purchase ledger payment runs and aged creditor reviews as needed
  • Covering credit control when required, including order releases and credit limit reviews
  • Supporting the team with operational and financial process improvement

  • Proven experience in ledger management and reconciliations
  • Strong administrative and analytical skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary negotiable, around £32,000, depending on experience
  • 40 hours per week, 08:30am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday
  • 22 days holiday plus bank holidays (rising to 25 days after 2 years)
  • Private contributory pension and life assurance
  • Free parking
