Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in the London Area, United Kingdom. The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for supporting bookkeeping activities, preparing accounts, managing VAT and payroll, assisting with tax filings, and handling statutory and compliance requirements. The role requires collaboration with the team to ensure accuracy and timely reporting, while also maintaining organized and detailed financial records. Providing support for client queries and assisting with the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems is key to the position.

Qualifications
- Proficiency in bookkeeping, accounts preparation, and managing VAT returns
- Experience in payroll processing, tax calculations, and statutory compliance
- Familiarity with accounting software and ability to assist with system implementation
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and clients
- An understanding of SME business needs and the ability to provide tailored accounting solutions
- Experience with accountancy for contractors and assurance services is a plus
- A background in accounting, finance, or a related field, with relevant certification or qualification
