Assistant Accountant & Administration Coordinator - Italian speaker

London | Hybrid Working (4 Days Office / 1 Day Home) | Excellent Career Development Opportunities

Our client is a highly successful and growing international business seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant & Administration Coordinator to become a key member of their finance team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on role that combines finance, operational support, and business administration. Acting as the trusted right-hand to the Finance Director, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the finance function while also supporting wider business projects and administrative initiatives.

This position would suit someone who has strong accounting fundamentals, enjoys variety in their role, and is keen to gain exposure to senior leadership and strategic business operations.

You'll work closely with the Finance Director and collaborate regularly with the wider leadership team across the business. Key Responsibilities

Finance & Accounting

  • Manage the purchase ledger function, including processing invoices, resolving queries, and preparing payments
  • Reconcile purchase ledger accounts and produce creditor reports
  • Raise sales invoices and credit notes
  • Monitor customer payments and maintain the sales ledger
  • Perform debtor and creditor reconciliations
  • Process intercompany invoicing and reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly journals, accruals, prepayments, and provisions
  • Maintain the fixed asset register
  • Complete multi-currency bank reconciliations and cashbook management
  • Post payroll journals and reconcile pension and healthcare contributions
  • Assist with the production of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
  • Support tax and regulatory reporting requirements

Business Support & Administration

  • Provide day-to-day support to the Finance Director
  • Assist with business projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate administrative activities across departments where required
  • Prepare reports, documentation, and presentations for senior leadership
  • Support operational and strategic initiatives across the wider business
  • Take ownership of a variety of ad hoc responsibilities, helping to drive efficiency and continuous improvement

About You

  • 1-3 years experience in an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Assistant, Finance Officer, or similar accounting role
  • Strong understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger, reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments, and month-end processes
  • Knowledge of SAP Business One is desirable
  • AAT qualified/studying, ACCA part-qualified, or equivalent experience would be beneficial
  • Fluent English and Italian are essential (C1 levels)
  • Organised, proactive, and commercially minded
  • A team player who enjoys taking on additional responsibility and supporting wider business objectives
  • Comfortable working closely with senior stakeholders and handling confidential information
