This is a Level 3 AAT Apprenticeship Role

Split 80/20 between working and earning with the employer gaining valuable hands-on skills, and learning & gaining qualifications with Solveway Apprenticeships!

What You'll Do at Work

  • Assisting with the preparation of accounts for a variety of businesses and organisations
  • Supporting the audit team with client audits, including checking financial records and documentation
  • Processing financial information accurately using accounting software
  • Assisting with bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and VAT returns
  • Preparing working papers and maintaining accurate client records
  • Learning to analyse financial data and identify any discrepancies
  • Communicating professionally with colleagues and clients
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with accounting standards and confidentiality requirements
  • Developing knowledge of accounting, audit and tax through a fully funded AAT apprenticeship
  • Building strong organisational, problem solving and attention to detail skills while working alongside experienced accountants

What You'll Learn

Course Contents

  • Assist with the investigation and response to financial information queries.
  • Record and analyse financial data using the organisation’s standard tools and processes.
  • Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts.
  • Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts.
  • Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations.
  • Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand.
  • Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
  • Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
  • Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.

AAT Level 3 qualification on an Assistant Accountant role in the workplace. Training takes place via Microsoft Teams with a fully qualified tutor. The instructor leads a live online training session so you can learn at your own pace and in the comfort of your own home or office. A full training schedule is provided upon a confirmed start date, however training is typically 1-day per week.

Desirable Qualifications

  • GCSE in:
    • English (grade 4)
    • Maths (grade 4)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
