Connex Offsite is a fast-growing manufacturing business specialising in the design and delivery of high-quality bathroom pods for major construction projects across the UK and Ireland.
As the business continues to scale, we are looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our finance team and work closely with the Head of Finance.
This is much more than a traditional transactional accounts position. You will take ownership across several key areas of finance, help strengthen financial controls and improve processes across the business.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Managing the sales and purchase ledgers
- Preparing customer invoices, including monthly vesting and contract invoicing
- Completing supplier statement and balance sheet reconciliations
- Managing credit control and customer accounts
- Supporting VAT returns and wider financial compliance
- Contributing to month-end processes and reporting
- Investigating discrepancies and ensuring financial records remain accurate
- Working closely with operations and other departments to resolve issues
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and controls

What we’re looking for
You will ideally bring:
- At least three years’ experience within an accounts or finance role
- Practical experience across sales ledger and purchase ledger
- Experience supporting month-end processes
- Strong reconciliation and credit control capability
- Knowledge of VAT preparation and financial compliance
- Good Excel and reporting skills
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- The confidence to investigate discrepancies and see issues through to resolution

Experience within manufacturing, construction, engineering or another project-based environment would be particularly valuable. Exposure to inventory, work in progress or contract invoicing would also be advantageous, but it is not essential.
