Bookkeeper, Oxfordshire/Berkshire border, Private Estate, Part time (up to 20 hours per week), up to £40,000 pro rata

I am working with a great Private Estate who are looking for a bookkeeper to join them on a part time basis. This role is based in Wallingford, OX10 9JR.

The key role is to keep financial records for arable farming and estate business up to date, ensuring smooth day to day operations. There are a variety of responsibilities and the position would suit someone who is confident managing their own workload.

Candidates should be AAT qualified or qualified by experience, with significant experience with debits/credits, purchase and sales ledger, credit control and a full understanding of the balance sheet. Training will be available for the accounting system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Making journal entries for all receipts, payments, and other financial transactions
  • Monthly supplier payment runs
  • Processing and posting purchase and sales ledger invoices
  • Filing source documents for all journal entries recorded
  • Posting journal entries to ledger accounts
  • Performing bank reconciliations
  • Maintenance of VAT reporting
  • Preparing annual budgets and forecasts incorporating P&L, Balance sheet and Cashflow
  • Performing general office and administrative duties as required

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • AAT qualified or qualified by experience
  • Clear understanding of debits and credits, journal entries etc.
  • Strong communicator
  • Confident in Excel and Word
  • Ability to work independently and with autonomy
