Global Financial Solution Limited is an established accountancy firm with over 17 years of experience providing accounting, taxation, payroll and business advisory services to a wide range of clients. We pride ourselves on delivering professional, reliable and tailored financial services to businesses of all sizes. We are currently looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping and accounting, and be confident managing day-to-day accounting responsibilities independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with bookkeeping and accounting records for a portfolio of clients.
- Processing purchase and sales invoices and maintaining accurate accounting records.
- Performing bank, supplier and customer account reconciliations.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Processing weekly and monthly payroll, including PAYE, National Insurance and pension contributions.
- Assisting with the preparation of management accounts and year-end financial statements.
- Preparing journals, accruals, prepayments and other accounting adjustments.
- Reviewing aged debtors and creditors and resolving any discrepancies.
- Maintaining accurate financial records using Xero, Sage and QuickBooks.
- Liaising with clients to obtain information and resolve accounting queries.
- Supporting month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and within the required deadlines.

Skills and Experience Required
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience in bookkeeping or accounting, ideally within the UK.
- Good working knowledge of Xero, Sage and QuickBooks.
- Experience preparing VAT returns and processing payroll.
- Sound understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Experience with bank reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Good knowledge of UK accounting practices and HMRC requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines without constant supervision.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- A proactive approach to work and willingness to take responsibility for assigned tasks.

Qualifications
- AAT-qualified or part-qualified candidates would be preferred, although applicants with relevant practical accounting experience will also be considered.
- Previous accounting experience is essential.
