About the Role

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.

This is a fixed term role until 30 April 2027.


Purpose of this Role

Assist the Project Reporting Team with the completion of accurate and timely capital reporting, analysis, and dissemination of financial information.


Your Key Responsibilities Are

  • Assist with reporting financials for projects under construction so that they can be managed efficiently and effectively.
  • Support with ongoing process improvements.
  • Assist with maintenance of project ledger information, i.e., connections, contribution, and budget upload and reconciliations into finance software.
  • General accounting entries for networks under construction.
  • Coding and batching of contractor invoices.
  • Developer rebates, investigating rebate claims from suppliers for accuracy before payment.
  • Ad-hoc finance admin and work with other departments.
  • Ad-hoc work with auditors, liaising with other business functions to locate required information.
  • Provide ad-hoc commentary on work completed when required.
  • Assist with ensuring that adequate accounting records exist to support inter-company asset transfers and cross charging of construction costs.
  • Assist with process of depreciation of network assets to ensure it is accurately calculated and recorded in the accounts.
  • Absorption journals and reconciliations, including variance investigation if required.
  • Asset additions and reconciliations, including variance investigation if required.
  • Other recurring processes as required by the Management Accountant.

Qualifications

  • AAT Studier or Graduate with relevant degree.

Experience/Knowledge

  • Experience in a finance role.

Abilities/Skills

  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Open minded, fast learner, interested in personal development.
  • Provide quality service standards to all customers, with a “can do” attitude.

Desirable

  • Begun further study (ACCA/ CIMA).
  • Experience In a Large Company.
  • Worked with D365 / Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Industry knowledge
