SCOPE

The Assistant Accountant will support the finance department by performing various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial health of the company and providing essential support to the finance team.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Achieved or is working towards bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an Assistant Accountant or similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.

Skills

  • Ability to establish good relationships with internal and external team members
  • Good levels of verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate Excel skills and MS Office skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Responds well to deadlines
  • Desire and willingness to learn new concepts and approach
  • Previous experience of using a Job Logic (or similar CAFM system) would be an advantage
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills

  • Using Job Logic to get the data to raise the invoices & Valuations where required
  • Accurate maintenance of Purchase ledger and Sales ledger function incl. Scanning & Filing documents.
  • Preparing financial documents such as invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable.
  • Entering financial information into appropriate software programs
  • Verifying balances in account books and rectifying discrepancies
  • Verifying Bank deposits
  • Encoding accounting entries for data processing
  • Sorting financial documents and posting them to the appropriate accounts.
  • Any other ad-hoc accounting duties as and when required for any other East West Group companies.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and timely.
  • Reconcile bank statements and accounts.
  • Maintain and update financial records and databases.
  • Assist with employee expense claims.
  • Handle queries from suppliers and clients regarding payments and invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Perform other administrative and accounting duties as required.
