The Role
Support the Finance team with month-end accounting, project profitability reporting, VAT compliance, account reconciliations and financial reporting across the UK and European entities.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the month-end close by completing assigned tasks accurately and within the agreed reporting timetable, escalating issues and delays to the Financial Controller.
- Prepare and post accruals, prepayments and other month-end journals.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate reconciling items and ensure outstanding differences are resolved or escalated promptly.
- Prepare P&L reconciliations and completeness checks, identifying missing invoices and required accruals.
- Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances across UK and European entities, investigating and resolving differences with relevant Finance teams.
- Prepare project profitability reports and work with relevant stakeholders to resolve any queries or discrepancies.
- Prepare a monthly report of non-recoverable costs.
- Prepare UK and Netherlands VAT returns and reconcile VAT balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with monthly financial reporting by preparing supporting schedules, validating source data and investigating variances or inconsistencies.
- Assist with year-end audits by preparing supporting schedules, responding to information requests and resolving audit queries in coordination with the Finance team.
- Work with AP, AR and other departments to resolve accounting queries.
- Support the Finance team with ad-hoc accounting and reporting activities, and identify opportunities to improve the accuracy, efficiency and documentation of finance processes.
