Are you a finance professional looking to take the next step in your accounting career?

International Students House (ISH) is looking for a Part-Qualified Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. This is an opportunity to broaden your accounting experience while progressing towards a recognised professional qualification.

As a charity supporting international students and young people in London, your work will help ensure our finances are well managed and resources are used effectively to support our charitable purpose.

About The Role

Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider team, you’ll gain broad experience across management accounting, financial control, AP/AR, reporting, audit, systems and process improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting month-end accounting, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
  • Assisting with management accounts, forecasting and budget monitoring.
  • Supporting Accounts Payable and Receivable, including coding, credit control and reconciliations.
  • Assisting with fixed asset accounting, statutory accounts and audit.
  • Supporting financial reporting and analysis.
  • Contributing to finance systems, automation and process improvement.
  • Maintaining high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, financial control and compliance.

About You

We’re looking for someone enthusiastic about accounting and committed to developing their career.

You’ll have:

  • Experience working within a Finance department.
  • A commitment to studying towards a recognised accounting qualification.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and organisational skills.
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and a willingness to learn.
  • A strong commitment to integrity, confidentiality and ethical practice.
