Assistant Accountant | £35,000 | Exclusive Opportunity
I am exclusively partnering with a growing and well-established business to recruit an Assistant Accountant into their finance team.

- Hybrid: 3 days in 2 from home
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong transactional finance background (AP/AR) who has started gaining exposure to management accounting duties and is looking to take the next step in their career. The role offers genuine development opportunities, with support from experienced finance leaders and exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities.
The Role
As Assistant Accountant, you'll support the day-to-day finance function across multiple entities, gaining exposure to month-end processes, reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities
- Processing purchase invoices and overseeing payment runs
- Raising and issuing sales invoices
- Managing bank reconciliations and journal postings
- Reconciling intercompany accounts
- Assisting with VAT returns
- Supporting month-end and quarter-end close activities
- Preparing accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Supporting the production of management and board reports
- Providing financial analysis and resolving finance-related queries
- Supporting audit and year-end financial statement preparation

About You
- 2-3 years experience within Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or a broader transactional finance role
- Exposure to month-end or management accounting activities
- Studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA, and keen to progress professionally
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proactive, organised and keen to develop
