Assistant Accountant
As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the finance team, helping to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective financial control. You will assist with month-end processes, reconciliations, and management reporting, while maintaining the integrity of financial records.

Our client is a renowned, top-tier Wealth Manager.
Description
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial statements, and regulatory reporting.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, accruals, and prepayments.
- Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business decision-making.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice processing and payment runs.
- Prepare VAT returns and assist with other tax and compliance-related requirements.
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Partner with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business to provide accurate financial information and reporting.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency and control environments.

Profile
The successful applicant must have:
- A relevant degree, with a 2:1 preferred.
- Be part-qualified or actively studying towards ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Recent experience within Financial Services, ideally within Wealth Management, Investment Management, Asset Management, or a related environment.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end accounting processes.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using accounting or finance systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to build relationships across the business.
- A proactive mindset with a desire to develop within a high-performing finance function.

Job Offer
- Competitive salary between £40,000 and £50,000, dependent on the level of experience.
- Permanent position with opportunities for professional growth.
