Accountant Opportunity
We are looking for a hands-on accountant, either part-qualified or experienced, to work closely with the Financial Controller in supporting the day-to-day accounts function and improving systems and processes, including through more effective use of AI.
This is a broad role for someone who enjoys working through the detail while understanding the bigger financial picture. Preparing management accounts will be a key responsibility, alongside supporting day-to-day accounting operations and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Financial Controller with the day-to-day running of the accounts.
- Prepare and assist with monthly and quarterly management accounts.
- Sales and purchase ledger management.
- Credit control, including chasing outstanding debts and resolving queries.
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounts.
- Assist with budgets, cash-flow monitoring, and forecasting.
- Support with VAT, payroll, and pension requirements.
- Prepare payments and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Investigate discrepancies and ensure accounts are fully reconciled.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting.

About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in a professional firm or service industry preferred.
- Highly competent in Excel. Xero, Sage, or similar accounting systems.
- Hands-on and willing to get into the detail.
- Tech-savvy and open to using AI and automation to improve the way the finance function operates.
- Proactive, organised, and able to manage competing priorities across multiple entities.
