We're looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a full-time permanent position, working 37 hours per week. We offer a flexible approach to working between home and our Portsmouth office, with a minimum of 20% of this to be office based to promote collaboration and team working.

Here’s The Facts About The Role
As an assistant accountant, you’ll be supporting the delivery of high-quality management and financial accounting services across VIVID. You’ll primarily be assigned to a specialism (customer operations, property services, property investment, development, central services) where you’ll report to the Senior Accountant and support them and the Management Accountants in the production of monthly accounts packs, KPI data and variance analysis. You'll play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory accounts preparation, and financial analysis. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise within a collaborative and forward-thinking finance team.
You'll work across a range of business areas, building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders while ensuring financial processes are delivered accurately, efficiently, and to agreed deadlines. Being a strong team player is crucial, willing to work alongside a team of like-minded outcome-focused people and willing to work as directed to deliver a quality financial reporting service. One of your keys to success will be your ability to foster good relationships with the financial reporting team, wider finance team colleagues and operational colleagues in order to provide support/financial information.

The role requires a strong analytical ability able to work independently in reviewing actual performance, preparing and processing accounting journals, and working with the team to ensure all accounting transactions are processed, with deadlines and monthly reporting timetables met.
We're looking for an ambitious finance professional with an accounting degree or full AAT/ATT qualification (or equivalent). Within this role you’ll have the opportunity to work towards gaining your CIMA/ACCA/ACA/CIOT. Crucially, you'll have solid, demonstrable experience working within finance, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential (particularly Excel). You’ll also have the ability to identify improvements, and work independently while knowing when to seek support.
This role requires a basic DBS check.
This is a 2 stage interview process with first stage interviews taking place via MS Teams on 8 and 9 October (subject to change).
