Outsourcing Assistant Manager

The Opportunity
A leading professional services firm is seeking an experienced Outsourcing Assistant Manager to join its growing Business Services & Outsourcing team. The role involves managing a portfolio of clients, overseeing the delivery of accounting and finance support services, and acting as a key point of contact for client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Review management accounts, VAT returns, and year-end accounting work prepared by junior team members.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted day-to-day adviser.
- Coordinate and oversee month-end and year-end reporting processes.
- Support clients with financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Identify opportunities to improve client processes and implement efficiencies.
- Supervise, coach, and develop junior team members.
- Monitor workflow, budgets, and deadlines to ensure assignments are delivered on time and within scope.
- Liaise with internal specialists, including tax, audit, and advisory teams where required.
- Assist with proposals, client pitches, and business development activities.

Candidate Profile
- ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualified.
- Experience gained within a professional services, outsourcing, or accounting environment.
- Strong knowledge of management accounting, financial reporting, and VAT.
- Experience managing client relationships and reviewing work prepared by others.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Commercially aware with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Competent user of cloud accounting systems such as Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.

Desirable Experience
- Exposure to international clients or multi-entity groups.
- Experience implementing accounting systems or process improvements.
- Previous people management or supervisory experience.
