Purpose of Job

The Assistant Analyst supports the implementation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of EBRD’s platforms and software solutions. They complete assigned tasks with guidance from within the Squad, applying basic knowledge of systems and tools. The role involves learning from others and assisting with routine coding or infrastructure tasks under supervision.

  • Takes responsibility for the quality of their work, seeking feedback and participating in engineering communities of practice.

  • Follows squad processes, keeps tasks and stories up to date, and provides clear updates during stand-ups, planning sessions, and retrospectives.

  • Uses appropriate tools to track time and effort, ensuring work is completed efficiently and in line with expectations.

  • Understands the importance of cyber security and follows agreed principles, practices, and tooling to ensure EBRD systems, people, and data remain safe and secure.

  • Adopts a user-centered approach in all tasks, responding effectively to incidents, supporting new feature requests, and contributing to broader engineering solutions.
  • Communicates clearly, provides timely and helpful updates, and creates knowledge articles and self-service content.

Specialism

Workplace Technology Engineer

  • Provides basic troubleshooting and support for laptops, desktops, mobiles, and peripherals across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.
  • Assists with hardware repairs, upgrades, imaging, patching, and device lifecycle tasks under established standards.
  • Supports common applications including Microsoft 365, VPN, and collaboration tools.
  • Logs and manages tickets in ServiceNow, maintaining clear user communication and accurate documentation.
  • Works collaboratively with senior engineers to resolve issues and enhance service quality.
  • Promotes a customer-centric culture, ensuring positive user engagement and continuous improvement in service delivery.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

Workplace Technology Engineer

  • Degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
  • Basic knowledge of end-user support, including devices, applications, AV, Microsoft 365, Windows/macOS, and mobile platforms.
  • Familiar with network, security, and recovery fundamentals, learning from senior colleagues as needed.
  • Supports accurate asset records and lifecycle tracking under guidance.
  • Developing problem-solving, analytical, and escalation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, engaging effectively with users and team members.
  • Works collaboratively in a multicultural environment with supervision.
  • Fluent in English; other languages beneficial.
  • Awareness of IT security, data protection, and compliance principles.
  • Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, Microsoft, or CompTIA A+ are desirable.
