Audit Assistant Manager

Location: Nottingham, UK

Are you an experienced Audit Senior ready to step up, or an existing Audit Assistant Manager looking for your next challenge?

Our client, a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Nottingham, is looking to appoint an Audit Assistant Manager to join their growing Audit & Assurance team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a varied client portfolio while developing your leadership and technical expertise within a supportive and progressive environment.

The Role

As Audit Assistant Manager, you will support the delivery of audit engagements for a broad range of clients, working closely with Managers and Partners while overseeing and developing junior team members.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing audit assignments from planning through to completion.
  • Leading fieldwork and acting as the main point of contact for clients during engagements.
  • Reviewing the work of Audit Seniors and Trainees, providing guidance and support.
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and audit documentation.
  • Identifying risks and delivering practical recommendations to clients.
  • Managing budgets, timelines, and resource allocation across multiple assignments.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Assisting with the development and training of junior staff.

The successful candidate will have:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience within an external audit role in practice.
  • Strong knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards.
  • Experience supervising, coaching, and reviewing junior staff.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
