Ardencote Hotel & Spa is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic and confident Assistant Bars Manager to help lead our bar operation, support our team and deliver an exceptional experience for every guest.
Working closely with the Bars Manager, you’ll be right at the heart of the operation — leading shifts, developing the team, maintaining high standards and helping drive the commercial success of our bars.
What You'll Be Doing
- Creating brilliant guest experiences, you’ll help ensure every guest receives warm, attentive and professional service from the moment they arrive. You’ll lead by example, resolve any issues confidently and make sure our standards remain consistently high.
- You’ll be supporting, motivating and developing our Bar and Food & Beverage teams through great communication, coaching and training. You’ll also be supporting new starter inductions, probation reviews, performance conversations and team development.
- Keeping the operation running smoothly, from pre-shift briefings and staffing to maintaining SOPs and supporting Duty Management, you’ll help make sure each service runs efficiently. You’ll work closely with other departments and always look for opportunities to improve how we do things.
- Driving performance, you’ll be developing your commercial skills by supporting stock takes, monitoring sales, payroll, costs and waste, and helping create initiatives and promotions that drive revenue and profitability.
- Maintaining exceptional standards, you’ll be helping ensuring our bars are safe, clean and compliant, with high standards across food hygiene, licensing, fire safety, health & safety, COSHH, risk assessments and equipment.

About You
We're looking for a passionate and experienced leader who:
- Must have experience working in a busy bar, hospitality or Food & Beverage environment.
- Must enjoy leading, motivating and developing others.
- Is passionate about delivering memorable guest experiences.
- Must be able to stay calm, organised and positive during busy services.
- Must understand the importance of standards, safety and attention to detail.
- Must have a commercial mindset and is comfortable working with sales, stock and costs.
- Must be a great communicator and a supportive team player.
- Loves finding ways to make the guest experience and the operation even better.
Additional Information
- Full-time - Working 45 hours per week.
- Working 5 out of 7 days a week.
- Shift Pattern: As required.
- Full flexibility is key as you will be expected to work as and when necessary to meet the needs of the team and the business.
