Are you a sales-driven merchant professional ready to take the next step in your career? Looking for a leadership role where you can really make an impact?
We’re looking for an ambitious Assistant Branch Manager to join our flagship Condell Horsham branch. This is a hands-on, sales-focused role with real responsibility — supporting the Branch Manager while helping drive branch performance, customer growth and operational excellence.
You’ll be a visible leader in the branch, building strong customer relationships, motivating the team, and driving sales.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Driving sales performance and developing new and existing customer accounts
- Supporting the Branch Manager with the day-to-day running of the branch
- Leading by example on customer service and sales standards
- Managing stock levels, deliveries, transport and branch operations
- Supporting with banking, cash reconciliation and branch administration
- Helping manage and develop branch colleagues
- Ensuring health & safety standards are maintained at all times

What We’re Looking For
- Experience working in a builders’ merchant (minimum 2 years)
- A strong sales background with a proven ability to grow accounts
- Confident leading, motivating and developing a team
- Commercial mindset with a focus on targets and performance
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Good knowledge of health & safety standards
- Eligible to work in the UK
Hours: 7am-4.30pm Monday to Friday, 8am-12pm alternate Saturdays
Holiday: 21 days plus Bank Holidays
Benefits: Discretionary bonus scheme
