The Role

As an Assistant Branch Merchandiser, you will play a key role in supporting the Branch Merchandiser in ensuring optimal stock levels, efficient product availability, and driving sales across our retail stores. This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to merchandising operations, enhance your analytical skills, and directly impact the profitability of our stores. You will be responsible for analysing retail stock and sales data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights that help optimise stock replenishment and product assortment. Your work will directly contribute to ensuring stores are well-stocked with the right products at the right time, supporting both operational efficiency and customer experience.

You Will

  • Manage overall store inventory levels based on store capacity, seasonality and selling curves
  • Be trade focussed – always looking for opportunities to maximise sales and manage risk
  • Own a number of ‘Focus Stores’ which you will support & optimise
  • Provide day to day support to the Senior Branch Merchandiser & Branch Merchandising Lead in the form of reporting, analysis and identifying opportunities
  • Support and develop the MAA’s within the department
  • Oversee the allocation process including seasonal review of initial allocation quantities and store banding
  • Coordinate the flow of stock information with Retail Operations, Area Managers and stores
  • Work closely with the Core Merchandising team to ensure seasonal plans are executed and trading opportunities communicated
  • Work closely with our logistics & DC teams
  • Attend store visits whenever possible to gain greater insight into our store estate & customer requirements
  • Provide pricing support for retail owned stores including seasonal re-pricing and markdown activity

You Are

  • Someone who is currently working as an Assistant Branch Merchandiser or Senior Allocator/Admin, ideally with experience working for a large fashion retailer
  • A confident communicator, engaging when presenting and able to influence at all levels
  • A strong user of Microsoft Excel and adept at working with high volumes of data, coupled with excellent numeracy skills
  • Comfortable managing & developing a small team of MAA’s
  • Highly organised with a real attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently on multiple projects with strict deadlines
  • Commercially astute with an understanding of customer profile, product range and competitors
  • Aware of the operational challenges & needs of retail stores
  • Happy to travel to our head office in Cheltenham 3-4 days a week
