Assistant Building Manager
EDINBURGH | Full-time, Permanent | Commercial Property Management
We are working exclusively with a leading commercial property management company, who are seeking an Assistant Building Manager for a landmark 60,000 sq ft office building. Set across eight storeys, the building is a Grade A sustainable redevelopment completed in early 2025, finished to a high-end specification throughout. It is a premier address for occupiers who expect a five-star building experience.
The Role
As Assistant Building Manager, you will support the senior management team in delivering an exceptional occupier experience and ensuring the building is run safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. You will be a proactive, visible presence on site, building strong relationships with occupiers, service partners and stakeholders while supporting operational excellence, sustainability objectives and community engagement initiatives. This is a great opportunity to broaden your building management experience, take real ownership of day-to-day operations, and contribute directly to the performance of a flagship asset.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
