Creating stylish and accessible ranges, our Buying team combines a sharp eye for emerging trends with a strong understanding of our customers and what they want to wear. Whether she’s a busy Mum looking for budget friendly fashion, a guy looking for the ultimate BBQ shirt or a fashion lover looking for the latest trends, we aim to offer our customer wearable style for all the family on their local High Street.

The Role
As an Assistant Buyer, you’ll play an important role in helping to shape and develop exciting, commercial, and fashion-forward product ranges that our customers love. From spotting the next big trend and supporting product development to analyzing performance and helping bring each range to life, you’ll gain hands-on experience across the entire buying journey.

Responsibilities/ Objectives
Critical Path
- Take ownership to manage Critical Path to ensure information is accurate, up to date, and deliveries are on time
- Provides regular updates through appropriate communication across the team and to suppliers on any identified issues
Sample Management
- Chase and manage samples to ensure they are kept tidy and correctly labeled to be available promptly for fit sessions, best sellers, press, and promotional meetings as required
Quality Assurance (QA)
- Chase and prioritize samples for fit sessions in line with the Critical Path
- Attend fit sessions with Critical Path information and ensure samples are accurate to match with order requirements
Commercial Awareness
- Undertake regular benchmarking to keep up to date with competitor activity and report findings to Buyer to assist with range development
- Demonstrate understanding of customer profile to actively contribute to research of new trends, colors, and themes
- Present findings of weekly sales report to Team in Best/Worst meetings as agreed with Buyer

Supplier Management
- Continually communicate with suppliers about the status of orders, lab dips, and samples to ensure achievement of the Critical Path
- Continually develop knowledge of all aspects of the supplier base
- Attend and participate in supplier meetings with Buyer, recording accurate minutes as required
General Administration
- Undertake all relevant administrative duties for the department
- Accurately and promptly raise orders utilizing internal systems
- Effectively communicate via email and telephone in an appropriate manner
Ideal Candidate
- Degree in Fashion/Textiles
- A broad-based understanding of all aspects of the buying process: quality assurance, merchandising, and selection
- Ability to build good working/business relationships with suppliers
- Good negotiation skills and excellent telephone manner
- Strong admin experience with good attention to detail
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable
