You too, could be part of that journey. We have an exciting opportunity in our Global Wine Buying team for an Assistant Buyer.
Role Overview
This role is a key link between our suppliers and internal teams, supporting the buying function across product, supplier, supply chain and range management activities.
This role is ideal for someone with previous exposure to buying, procurement, supply chain or commercial support who is ready to develop within a buying environment. Working closely with Buyers and the Buying Manager, you will support supplier relationships, commercial decision-making, range management and product lifecycles from set-up through to supply chain and shipment, while building confidence, using initiative and taking increasing ownership as your experience grows.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Support the Buying Team by assisting with range reviews, supplier meetings, tastings, product launches and commercial activities, whilst developing buying and supplier management skills.
- Manage Supplier and Stakeholder Relationships by acting as a day-to-day contact for suppliers and internal teams, resolving routine queries and ensuring information is shared accurately and on time.
- Coordinate Product and Supply Chain Activities by supporting the movement of products from set-up through to shipment, identifying potential issues and helping ensure continuity of supply.
- Maintain Product and Commercial Data by ensuring information is accurate, compliant and up to date across business systems, whilst producing reports and analysis to support decision making.
- Develop Commercial and Buying Expertise by building knowledge of supplier management, range management, product performance and the wider wine industry, taking increasing ownership as experience grows.

What you'll bring
- Previous experience in buying, procurement, supply chain, data coordination or commercial support.
- Strong communication skills, with confidence working with suppliers, colleagues and stakeholders.
- Good numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to work with pricing, volumes, sales data and reports.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage priorities and keep product information accurate.
- A proactive, commercially minded approach, with confidence solving problems and taking ownership.
- A genuine interest in wine and the wider industry.

It would be great if you also have
- Experience in wine, drinks, FMCG, retail buying or supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of product databases, ERP systems or supplier management processes.
- WSET Level 2 or above, or a willingness to work towards it.
- Italian and/or Spanish language skills.
