Working within the Buying and Merchandising team, the assistant buyer would be responsible for ensuring sample management, supplier communications and administrative activities are actioned on a daily basis.
Key Accountabilities Will Include
- Responsible for the placing and updating of Purchase Orders (POs) and all supporting information to be sent to suppliers within deadlines
- Responsible for maintaining information, ensuring it is up to date and accurate in relation to the critical path
- Responsible for the administrative communication with suppliers
- Responsible for updating delivery information
- Progression toward taking responsibility for own product areas
- Providing full administrative support to the buying team on Ad hoc duties as required.
- Provide holiday cover for assistant merchandiser
- Assisting and supporting colleagues within the buying and Merchandising team

Essential
Skills and Experience required:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an assistant buyer or would also consider an experienced buyers assistant looking to progress to the next level.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with suppliers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word
- A proactive and problem-solving mind set, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Results driven individual, highly motivated, enthusiastic with a strong desire to succeed
