Department Overview
The Assistant Buyer Merchandiser supports the Product team across retail buying, wholesale merchandising, and commercial operations. The role helps build commercially relevant assortments, supports seasonal market preparation, manages product and sample information, analyses sales performance, and partners cross-functionally with Planning, Allocations, VM, Marketing, Sales, Operations teams, and vendors to execute product strategies that meet or exceed business objectives.
This position provides commercial and operational support through reporting, product administration, competitor research, store feedback, delivery tracking, allocation support, and market readiness.
The successful candidate will develop strong product knowledge, build ownership of a divisional area under supervision, and contribute recommendations that support growth, profitability, and trend relevance.
What you’ll do
- Support range planning through sales analysis, trend insight, pricing opportunities, and product performance.
- Produce accurate weekly, monthly, and seasonal reports with clear commercial insights.
- Maintain key product documents and systems, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
- Act as a key contact for product, sample, digital showroom, and merchandising updates.
- Support market preparation, presentations, and showroom set-up, including sample management.
- Work with Buying Coordinators to input, check, and reconcile POs and orders.
- Partner with Planning, Allocations, and DC teams to track shipments, orders, stock, and product flow.
- Conduct competitor research, comp shops, and store visits, sharing actions to maximize opportunities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support launches, selling tools, training materials, and market execution.
- Coordinate photoshoots, samples, image requests, uniform documents, and product communications.
- Attend buy appointments, store visits, and business meetings, including occasional European travel.

What You’ll Bring
- Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong relationship-building skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Good product knowledge, commercial awareness, and passion for fashion, trends, and the customer.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales performance, identify opportunities, and turn insight into clear recommendations.
- A proactive, resilient, and hands-on approach to support strategic and operational tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication, collaboration, and effective relationship-building skills.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly across administration, reporting, and sample management.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency across Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Word.
- Digital sensitivity, with experience using or supporting digital showroom tools desirable.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability, positivity, and openness to change within a fast-moving entrepreneurial business.
- Willingness to travel for markets, buy appointments, showroom activity, and store visits when required.
