ASSISTANT BUYER – NET-A-PORTER

NET-A-PORTER are now seeking an Assistant Buyer to join the team. Some of the essentials for you to know are:

Responsibilities:

Market Support and Buying Appointments:

  • Oversee preparation of vendor packs, ensuring that BAAs have these compiled at an appropriate time ahead of trips.
  • Attend ad-hoc buying appointments and if needed deputise in Buyers absence to gather product info for review.
  • Review sales performance in order to offer informed product opinion within the appointment, based on sales history.

Order Management:

  • Complete buy sheets after buying appointments in preparation for Buyer to write the buy.
  • Raise and send orders to vendors, managing the ordering process within the YNAP system.

Operational Support:

  • Oversee order confirmation and RRP entry process, ensuring BAAs are receiving in a timely and organized manner, adhering to set deadlines.
  • Create trade sheets for weekly meetings to feedback to buyers including delivery highlights / lowlights, key editorial and marketing support features, as well as pulling together best and worst sellers information.
  • Constantly hawk products on site, taking responsibility for the display of your departments offer (highlighting tricky styling, limited or incorrect product editorial, questionable pricing, duplicated products).
  • Compile the “Buybles” presentation, including new brand, exclusive capsule and top spends information.

Sales Analysis & Stock Optimization:

  • Analyse weekly sales data to suggest repeats and/or swaps, presenting proposals to Buyer & Merchandiser, and subsequently liaising with vendors to action.
  • Manage the repeat and swap process to ensure full advantage is taken of vendor stock availability, as well as quickest possible delivery of stock into the business.
  • Undertake competitive shopping analysis (bricks and mortar & online) to review offer vs NAP, ensure pricing is aligned for every upload, and to check deliveries vs NAP.

Cross-Functional Work:

  • Support Press, Marketing and Editorial functions in regard to new brand and exclusive launches, supplying buy sheets, delivery and upload updates, style suggestions as necessary.

Team Support:

  • Manage the day-to-day workload of the Buyers Admin Assistant including setting of objectives and weekly catch ups.
  • Coach the Buyers Admin Assistant to constantly review efficiency and maintain high standards of working practices to drive sell thru, scalability and improve department KPIs.
  • Undertake Ad hoc projects for Buyers and Buying Director.

The type of person we are looking for:

  • Experience at AB/BAA or equivalent level gained in a fast-paced fashion retail buying or merchandising environment with strong administrative skills.
  • Strong analytical and advanced MS Office skills, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
  • Commercial Awareness – understanding of our business, products and competition.
  • Strong eye for detail and organisational skills and strives for a high level of accuracy.
  • The ability to work with stringent deadlines.
  • A great sense of humour, personal style and attitude.
