Beal Homes are a private, family-owned residential housebuilder operating across East Yorkshire & Northern Lincolnshire. Having moved to a new, £5M purpose-built office in Hessle, the company is primed for future growth and is now looking for an Assistant CAD Technician or CAD Technician.
About the Role
We are looking to appoint an Assistant CAD Technician or CAD Technician, depending on the successful candidate’s experience and capability. This opportunity would suit either somebody developing their career with an existing foundation in AutoCAD and construction or an established CAD Technician able to contribute with greater independence. The successful applicant will join an HBF 5 Star-rated housebuilder and become part of an experienced Technical team.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will join a collaborative Technical team and work closely with another CAD Technician and a Senior Architectural Technician. The Technical Manager reports directly to the Technical Director. Together, the team produces and manages accurate technical information for our housing developments.
Your role will include updating standard drawings and CAD resources, reviewing and coordinating supplier design information and helping to resolve day-to-day design issues. You will be supported by knowledgeable and experienced colleagues as we work together to deliver exceptional homes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
