Post Title: Assistant Caretaker
Salary: Scale 2
Contract: Part time and permanent (20 hours per week)
Term time only to include TED Days
This is a term-time contract with an agreed two-week period of leave during term time. The successful candidate will be required to work during the first two weeks of the main six week summer holiday to complete the annual painting programme.

About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available to secure a post in one of the country’s best middle schools. The Governing Body wishes to appoint an Assistant Caretaker on a part-time and permanent contract.
We are an oversubscribed, very popular school, and our school community is committed to excellence. Our pupils are motivated to learn, and their behaviour is outstanding. (Ofsted November 2024). In June 2025, the school was also awarded the School of Character Kitemark Plus.

Role Overview
We are looking for an Assistant Caretaker with enthusiasm and a passion for learning who will:
- Assist the Site Manager in always maintaining a clean and safe environment at the school and to undertake duties directed by the Site Manager or the Senior Leadership Team.
- Be a ‘people person’ demonstrating exceptional inter-personal skills.
- Be committed to safeguarding all children.
- Possess excellent organizational skills.
- Motivate to inspire others in the pursuit of excellence.
- Promote inclusion as the heart of school improvement.
