LOCATION

THE ROLE
The Assistant Cash & Bank Accountant is a new role in the Treasury Back Office team arising from the efficiencies gained from our recent finance transformation programme. The role reflects realigned responsibilities based on complexity and risk for the Cash & Bank Accounting personnel, and supports greater process improvement and automation in the function.
The primary responsibility for the role is to prepare reconciliations for lower-risk and lower-volume bank accounts, and process tenant deposit and lease-related transactions. The role will help support continuous improvement of cash and banking controls, and assist with identifying further opportunities for automation. While being an escalation point for queries and exceptions identified to the Senior Cash & Bank Accountant, the role will also gain exposure to supporting our month-end close activities and actions taken to resolve reconciling items.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
